What was once an office building at Tenaris's mill in Arkansas is now a brand-new campus for TenarisUniversity.

In a demonstration of Tenaris's ongoing commitment to training and education, the building was revamped to house classrooms and a computer lab for the mill's 900 employees, who previously had to travel off site for classes. The Blytheville, Arkansas mill produces welded OCTG and line pipe. 

Doors to the new learning space opened in October, following a two-month renovation in which the building, which formerly housed executive offices, was rebuilt. The goal was to provide onsite training facilities for mill employees and to make room for large classes and meetings.

"There are more classrooms in the new building, as well as meeting space and a larger computer lab for training that can hold 10 employees," said Project Engineer Brian Hendrickson. 

TenarisUniversity Analyst Desmond Hammett said the new building is an improvement because it provides a larger, more comfortable learning environment than employees previously had access to.

"With the additional space, we can schedule more classes to accommodate our training needs without traveling to remote locations. We also have a larger computer lab so that employees can engage in computer-based learning and explore some of the tutorial videos available for training," Hammett said. "I'm excited about the future TenarisUniversity training will be able to offer."
