Tenaris officially inaugurated on September 16, 2014 its new finishing mill in Machachi, Ecuador, in the presence of local authorities, community members and employees. The result of a USD 16 million investment plan that began in late 2012, the project speaks to Tenaris's commitment to Ecuador and the development of its national industry.

The new OCTG threading facility occupies an area of about 70,000 square meters and has a production capacity of 35,000 tons of pipes a year. It incorporates state-of-the-art technology to produce pipes of different diameters in accordance with the highest health, safety and environmental standards. 

Ricardo Prosperi, Tenaris Managing Director for the Andean Region, thanked customers for their trust and support throughout these years and highlighted the Ecuadorian government's commitment to industrial development. "Oil and gas exploration and production activity in Ecuador is going through an outstanding performance period, that would lead into the industrial growth of the country and its regions".

With this investment Tenaris reaffirms its commitment to the country's oil and gas industry, promoting technology transfer, expanding the portfolio of products made in Ecuador and contributing to the development of local suppliers.
