Canadian energy company Gran Tierra Energy recently extended its contract with Tenaris for three years, adding Rig Direct™ and the supply of 5,800 tons of tubing and accessories for its operations in Colombia. This extension strengthens the business relationship that began in 2013.

'This new contract provides savings for Gran Tierra's operations through a package of integrated services, while also continuing the benefits of the current contract,' said Gabriel Duarte, Sales Manager- Colombia.

In addition to pipes, the extension of the contract with the Canadian operator includes Rig Direct™, a service model that integrates the supply of pipes and accessories from the mill to the rig, leveraging a single QHSE management system. This service model focuses on process and operational efficiency with the objective of lowering costs. The pipes will be produced locally from Tenaris's mill in Cartagena, Colombia.

'The extension is a sign of Gran Tierra's confidence in Tenaris and a demonstration that product quality and Rig Direct™ are assets in the industry. We are honored to continue to work with Gran Tierra and support their Colombian operations,' said Gonzalo Cuervo, Commercial Director- Andean Region.

In 2014 and 2015 Gran Tierra recognized Tenaris for 'outstanding performance' in the supply of products and services to their operations noting their exceptional quality and customer service.
