May 31, 2016

Recently, Tenaris locations around the world announced the winners of the annual Merit Award scholarship program. With a focus on encouraging academic excellence and supporting education, the award includes a financial grant, based on academic merit and engagement. Since its launch in 1959, the program has expanded to serve more than 1,500 students in nine countries.

In 2016, the scholarship expanded once again to include the communities of Batam, Indonesia and Louisville, USA. 'Tenaris's values are centered around the belief that industry plays a key role in promoting lasting and equitable economic growth,' said Andrea Previtali, Country Manager Indonesia, during his opening speech at the Batam community event. 'We established our Batam threading facility in 2007 and we are proud to support the development of the local community through this award.'

Ceremonies this year have also taken place in Veracruz, Mexico, Blytheville, USA and Bay City, USA with several more scheduled in the upcoming months. To learn more about the Merit Awards, and Tenaris's continued commitment to education and community development, visit the Community section.
