Tenaris : introduces Dopeless® technology at a make-and-break demo in Nigeria

A make and break demonstration was held at Tenaris's facility in Onne, Nigeria in mid June. Twenty representatives of major oil and gas and service companies operating in Nigeria attended the event, including drilling and completion engineers, as well as HP/HT experts. This event was the first demonstration of Dopeless® technology in Nigeria.

During the demonstration, Tenaris representatives showcased the TenarisHydril Blue® connection with Dopeless® technology. The attendees could see and touch Dopeless® coating both before and after the make up and break out operations, verifying the robustness and reliability of the technology.

'This event was a great opportunity to introduce Dopeless® technology to the Nigerian market. We were able to hear about the region's challenges directly from our customers, while also demonstrating how the technology can be useful for operators in the region,' said Esteban De Franceschi, Tenaris Technical Sales Manager- North Sub-Saharan Africa.

Dopeless® technology is a dry multifunctional coating applied to TenarisHydril premium connections in the mill, avoiding the use of thread compounds. The coating brings several quantifiable benefits to operators, including reduced running times, with nearly zero re-makeups and rejects. The technology also complies with zero discharge policies and minimizes risks, improving HSE aspects.
