On July, 12, 2016 Tenaris celebrated the inauguration of its first service center in Thailand, in the presence of Eakarat Lheesen, Vice Governor of Songkhla, Paolo Rocca, Tenaris Chairman and CEO, and Brad Middleton, Chevron Asia South Managing Director.

Tenaris invested in the state-of-the-art service center in order to serve Chevron, the leading natural gas and crude oil producer in Thailand. From Songkhla, an important harbor on the Gulf of Thailand, Tenaris will supply the major OCTG and Rig Direct™ services. Tenaris will provide 80,000 tons of chrome and carbon casing and tubing, along with TenarisHydril premium connections.

Rig Direct™ is Tenaris's new service model that makes oil and gas operations more efficient by bringing quality and expertise directly to the rig site, applying the highest standards of health, safety and environment. As part of this service model, the Songhkla service center will provide complete pipe management services, including demand planning and inventory management, preparation for running offshore, PipeTracer™ pipe-by-pipe identification, and net invoicing. These services will help Chevron improve operation reliability and efficiency while reducing the total cost of operation.

In his address at the ceremony, Eakarat Lheesen, Vice Governor of Songkhla, said, 'It is our honor to have Tenaris in Songkhla and its support to grow the local economy. I'm expecting Tenaris's strong contributions to oil & gas operations in Thailand, and the development of local talents, education and community.'

Paolo Rocca, Chairman and CEO of Tenaris, said, 'This is a unique service center with new technologies that every pipe can be identified and traced and with the first priority of health, safety and environment from yard design to operation. Tenaris is proud to support Chevron's complex projects in Thailand and appreciates the support from local authorities and all business partners.'

Brad Middleton, Chevron Asia South Managing Director, said, 'The Tenaris facility in Songkhla will play an important role in supporting Chevron's operations in the Gulf of Thailand and bring jobs and training opportunities for the local people in the province. Chevron has been in Thailand and in Songkhla for many decades and is committed to supporting the development and growth of the communities where we work.'
