"Tenet has been a great partner with the Clinton Foundation in helping promote the importance of health and wellness and in focusing on solutions to help people lead healthy lives in the Coachella Valley and America."

Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE:THC) will serve as the presenting sponsor of the fourth annual Clinton Health Matters Activation Summit, scheduled for January 25-27, 2015 in Indian Wells, Calif.  The conference brings together leaders in health and wellness from across the country for the national Clinton Health Matters Initiative established by the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation and is attended by more than 400 leaders from across healthcare, government, public policy, business, education and sports industries.

"Tenet's mission is to help people live happier, healthier lives, which is a goal we share with the Clinton Foundation and its Health Matters Initiative," said Trevor Fetter, president and chief executive officer at Tenet.  "We're proud to join with the Foundation to focus on successful initiatives to promote healthier lifestyles and improve healthcare delivery across the country. And we're honored to be the presenting sponsor of the Health Matters summit for the fourth consecutive year."

Fetter will again deliver opening remarks and introduce former President Bill Clinton at the conference's main session on Monday, January 26.

"We are thrilled that Tenet is once again the presenting sponsor of the Clinton Health Matters Summit," said Rain Henderson, CEO of the Clinton Health Matters Initiative. "Tenet has been a great partner with the Clinton Foundation in helping promote the importance of health and wellness and in focusing on solutions to help people lead healthy lives in the Coachella Valley and America."

Tenet operates two hospitals in the Coachella Valley area, where the summit will take place: Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs and John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio.  In addition, Tenet operates five outpatient centers in the Coachella Valley.  On December 3, 2014, the Board of Directors of Hi-Desert Medical Center, located in Joshua Tree, Calif., voted unanimously to enter into a long-term lease to affiliate with Tenet.  The transaction is subject to community approval by mail ballot in late spring of 2015.

"We are pleased to welcome the Health Matters Summit back to Coachella Valley," said Carolyn Caldwell, chief executive officer at Desert Regional.  "Our hospital, along with JFK Memorial Hospital, has been deeply involved in serving the community and promoting health and wellness in the Valley for decades."

Most recently, Desert Regional Medical Center and JFK Memorial Hospital have partnered with the Clinton Foundation to launch its first Blueprint for Action in the Coachella Valley.  Subsequently, Desert Regional Medical Center pledged a donation of $1.5 million to Desert AIDS Project and the Get Tested Coachella Valley public health campaign, one of the initiatives in the Blueprint for Action initiative to increase awareness and create greater access to HIV testing through a mobile testing unit.
