NOTICE TO THE MARKET
Tereos Internacional Concludes the Acquisition of Its First
Potato-based Starch Plant in Europe
TEREOS INTERNACIONAL S.A. (BM&FBOVESPA: "TERI3")
hereby informs its shareholders and the market in general
that its subsidiary Tereos Syral concluded today the
acquisition of a 75% equity interest of SAS Féculerie
Haussimont, a potato- based starch plant located at the
Champagne-Ardenne region in France, for €12.9 million in
cash.
Prior to the transaction, SAS Féculerie Haussimont was owned
by Societé Cooperative Féculière de Haussimont - "SCAF"
(51%) and SPhere (49%). Under the new corporate structure,
Tereos Syral will hold a 75% stake, SCAF 20% and SPhere
5%.
The Haussimont starch plant has a production capacity of
63,000 tons/year of potato native starch. The plant location
is close to the Tereos Syral's Marckolsheim plant (around 300
km), which will allow for potential industrial synergies
while also expanding the range of value-added products
processed at other starch plants.
This investment will also give Tereos Internacional an entry
platform into the potato starch market, complementing our
portfolio of starch value-added products. Additionally, SAS
Féculerie Haussimont's acquisition provides for a
diversification of raw materials including now the processing
of roots in Europe.
