Terna: Inclusion in Euronext indices of rating agency Vigeo Eiris fifth time consecutively

- Further recognition of the results achieved in the Environment, Social and Governance sectors

Rome, 23 November 2016 -The rating agency Vigeo Eiris has published the Euronext indices for the period 01 December 2016-31 May 2017, confirming the inclusion of Terna for the fifth year running.

The Euronext indices, which Terna has appeared in right from the start, were first published in 2012 and consider listed companies in the North American, Asian and European markets.

Terna has confirmed its presence in the Euronext Vigeo 120 World index which includes the 120 best companies in North-America, Europe and Asia (out of a total of 1,500 companies considered) for their ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) performance; and in the Euronext Vigeo 120 Europe and Euronext Vigeo Eurozone indices which respectively include the 120 best European and Eurozone companies (out of a total of 1,000 companies considered).

The evaluation methods applied by the agency Vigeo Eiris provide for half-yearly assessments involving verification of over 330 indicators relative to 38 assessment criteria, divided into 6 subject areas: Environment, Corporate Governance, Human Rights, Human Resources, Business Conduct and Involvement in the community.

This triple recognition by Vigeo Eiris is yet further confirmation of the solidity and quality of Terna's sustainability and its ability to incorporate social responsibility objectives into its business strategy. These important results in the field of sustainability are also being given ever-increasing attention by the market, as is confirmed by the growing presence of investors who are attentive to ethical issues, which has increased in the last few years and which now represents about 10% of the institutional investors in Terna share capital.

In addition to inclusion in the Euronext indices (World, Europe and Eurozone), Terna is also present in the following international sustainability indices: Dow Jones Sustainability (World), FTSE4Good (Global and Europe), STOXX® ESG (Global, Environmental, Social and Governance), STOXX® Low Carbon, ECPI, ESI (Ethibel Sustainability Index, MSCI, United Nations Global Compact ('GC100'); and in the Italian indices: FTSE ECPI Italia SRI Benchmark and Italia SRI Leaders, drawn up only from listed Italian companies.
