TERNA AND ROSSETI SIGN AN AGREEMENT TO EXCHANGE THEIR KNOW-HOW IN THE SECTOR OF ELECTRICITY TRANSMISSION

St. Petersburg, 2 June 2017 - In light of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum SPIEF '17, Terna and Rosseti have signed a non-binding MoU (Memorandum of Understanding). The MoU will envisage the exchange of know-how, best practices and collaboration in some of the most important technological areas in the sector of electricity transmission.

In particular, the agreement is aimed at developing long-term cooperation for the introduction of innovative storage technologies and, in general, for the integration of renewable sources. Furthermore, for the identification of advanced solutions in design, construction and automated management systems of high voltage networks. Particular attention will be given to joint initiatives for the introduction of new components and fast-installation connection stations.

"I'm sure - said Luigi Ferraris, CEO of Terna - that significant benefits can be achieved from this collaboration in terms of improvement in quality standards, reliability and security of transmission infrastructures, key factors in the rapidly evolving electricity system management".

In order to implement the MoU, with a duration of 36 months, the creation of a mixed working group is planned. The group will propose a specific road map for ventures considered Projects of Common Interest (PCI).
