Tesco Clubcard helps customers find the perfect gift for Christmas

Every year it's the same conundrum - what present do you buy the family member who thinks they have everything?

Well, now there's a clever solution - an app that uses insight from Twitter to help people find a fun Christmas gift for their friends and family.

The Secret Scan-ta app, developed by Tesco Clubcard, simply analyses who you are following on Twitter and uses the insight to suggest a fun and playful gift. For example, if they are following mainly tech or fashion related accounts - or show a preference for Star Wars over Barbie - it will suggest a gift that is most relevant to them. The tool directly links to tesco.com/direct and clothingattesco.com so users can make the purchase easily.

The online tool is part of Tesco's Every Little Helps Make Christmas campaign, which aims to respond to the nation's needs in the run up to Christmas with fun and helpful initiatives.

Best of all, it's linked to Clubcard Boost, which means that Clubcard customers can double the value of their vouchers and put it towards the cost of the gift.

Katie Aust at Tesco Clubcard said: "Christmas is a really special time of year but we know that sometimes people find buying presents a bit stressful. The app is designed to give customers a helping hand and make it much easier for them to find a fun present for their friends and family!"

In the run up to Christmas, Tesco is working with a number of bloggers including 'Chelsea Mamma' and 'U Me and The Kids' to help customers find the perfect present solutions for people who are sometimes tricky to buy for, such as school teachers and in-laws.
