Dec. 07--WEST PALM BEACH -- A Palm Beach Gardens man has pleaded guilty to two charges stemming from a crash that killed a Belle Glade man in May, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said.
Joshua Woodard, 31, will have his license suspended for 12 months and pay a fine of $1,166 in exchange for his plea on charges of careless driving causing death and failure to maintain a single lane in the death of Bryant Gonazalez, 24, on May 11.
Just after 4:30 p.m. that afternoon, Woodard was traveling eastbound on Okeechobee Boulevard near Florida's Turnpike in his 2016 Tesla when the electric car veered to the right side of the roadway and "violently" crashed into Gonzalez's 1993 Honda Civic at "a high rate of speed," according to a sheriff's crash report released Thursday morning.
Gonzalez's car became "pancaked" between Woodard's car and a telephone pole and he died on the scene, the report said.
