TESSCO (NASDAQ: TESS) today announced that as a corporate sponsor of the inaugural LPGA International Crown set for July 24-27, 2014, at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Md., it will host a special full-day event for women business leaders during the tournament.

TESSCO, a leading national force in the fast-growing wireless industry with a more than 30-year history in Maryland, is generating additional interest in the International Crown through its sponsorship of TESSCO’s Professional Women’s Day, a celebration of women in the workplace, on July 24. TESSCO customers and guests will enjoy a morning of presentations and discussions by and for women business leaders followed by an international luncheon and an afternoon watching the tournament.

“We are very proud to be a sponsor of the LPGA’s inaugural International Crown to be held at Caves Valley, located just minutes from our Maryland headquarters,” said Robert B. Barnhill, Founder, Chairman and CEO of TESSCO, based in Hunt Valley. “TESSCO and its employees, partners and customers look forward to this rare opportunity to see the world’s leading women golfers play at one of the finest private clubs in the country and we are happy to take this opportunity to salute women business leaders at the Professional Women’s Day.”

TESSCO Vice Presidents Liz Robinson, Mary Beth Smith and Cindy King will host this invitation only event. “We are delighted to welcome industry leaders and innovators to our event and highlight the achievements of women in the workplace today. TESSCO is proud to be a sponsor of the LPGA International Crown Tournament here in Baltimore, as it gives us an opportunity to celebrate the great contributions that women make every day in our company and others,” said Robinson.

The International Crown is a first-of-its-kind biennial, global match play competition featuring the best female golfers from eight countries battling for the right to be "Crowned" the world's best golf nation. The countries competing are Australia, Chinese Taipei, Japan, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, and the United States. The player field includes the top four players from each country.

The International Crown is expected to have a $15 million economic impact on the Maryland economy through hotel, restaurant, entertainment and transportation spending, according to tournament organizers, who anticipate a crowd of 70,000 to 80,000 spectators.
