Forbes Magazine recently named Texas Roadhouse, Inc. (NasdaqGS: TXRH) one of America’s 100 Most Trustworthy Companies.

The Louisville-based company is one of only a handful of restaurants to be ranked and the only Kentucky-based company to earn a spot on this prestigious list.

The list is assembled by GMI Ratings, a consulting company that reviews accounting and governance behaviors of about 8,000 North American publicly-traded companies. GMI assesses each company’s credibility based on factors such as high-risk events, revenue and expense recognition methods, SEC actions, and bankruptcy risk. The 100 companies with the highest scores for trustworthy behavior or AGR (Aggressive Accounting and Governance Risk), over the four quarters of the previous fiscal year, earn a place on the list.

“What an honor to be recognized as one of the most trustworthy companies in America. This is a testament to the 40,000 Texas Roadhouse employees who build trust with our guests each and every day,” commented Kent Taylor, Chief Executive Officer of Texas Roadhouse, Inc.

The list of 100 companies is sorted into large-caps with market caps of $5 billion or higher, mid caps with market caps of $1 to $5 billion, and small caps with market caps of $25 million to $1 billion.

Forbes 100 Most Trustworthy Companies is the latest accolade for Texas Roadhouse. Earlier this year, Glassdoor, a popular career search website, announced that Texas Roadhouse employees voted the company as one of the nation’s Top 50 Best Places to Work. In 2012, Texas Roadhouse was named the #1 Steakhouse in Nation’s Restaurant News’ Consumer Picks survey.
