NORTHBROOK, IL, April 19, 2018 - Allstate has been named a 2018 'Best-of-the-Best' Corporation for Inclusion by the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), in collaboration with its partners in the National Business Inclusion Consortium (NBIC). The designation celebrates companies committed to diversity and inclusion across all communities. This is the second year in a row Allstate has been honored for its inclusive diversity efforts.

'Inclusive diversity is one of Allstate's core values and we are honored to be recognized as a Best-of-the-Best Corporation again this year,' said Christy Harris, Allstate's vice president, human resources, benefits, inclusive diversity and talent acquisition. 'Individuals thrive and perform at their highest levels when a work environment welcomes different perspectives, backgrounds and cultures. Allstate is dedicated to ensuring an inclusive environment where everyone has a seat at the table and that their voices are heard.'

'The Best-of-the-Best designation honors corporations for their commitment to America's diverse employees and business owners, which includes LGBT, people of color, women, and people with disabilities,' said Justin Nelson, NGLCC co-founder and president. 'This designation is highly competitive and is bestowed only to corporations that we see constantly striving to strengthen and celebrate diversity.'

In 2016, Allstate's Enterprise Diversity Leadership Council (EDLC) established inclusive diversity commitments in every business unit to improve diversity in its talent recruiting efforts and on its leadership teams. As part of its broader inclusive diversity efforts, Allstate leverages Agency Owner Advisory Groups and 11 Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to ensure all employees, regardless of background, are encouraged and perform at their highest levels. Allstate also supports the inclusion of diverse suppliers through its Supplier Diversity Program.

Criteria required to be named a Best-of-the-Best corporation include: the completion of a detailed survey of an organization's inclusive programs, which may involve Supplier Diversity initiatives, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and workplace engagement opportunities, marketing, diverse marketplace and community engagements. Additionally, a detailed report of policies and achievements in the diversity and inclusion space is weighted and reviewed by a committee of NBIC leaders.
