JOPLIN, MO - August 21, 2014 - Approximately 4,500 customers of The Empire District Electric Company are currently experiencing an outage in the southeast area of Ozark as well as Sparta, Missouri. Due to damage to a substation transformer, the majority of customers should expect to be without power through the night as crews work as quickly as possible to make repairs.
