Since its grand opening in March, HK Toy Museum @ The Link has captured the attention of toy fans in Hong Kong, and Lok Fu Plaza has become a prime destination for toy lovers. The Link has partnered with well-known local robot collectors as well as Toysdaily, a popular online toy forum, to present a series of robot-themed events this summer. Highly collectible classic robot collections which have never been exhibited will be showcased to the public at the HK Toy Museum @ The Link for free, making Lok Fu Plaza the place to be for robot lovers and heightening public interest in robot toys. This is definitely an event that toy lovers should not miss!

Drumming up interest in the Robot Alliance with an exclusive selection of classic robot toys
As part of a partnership with Toysdaily, online voting on its Facebook fanpage and online forum was launched in late June, allowing the public to vote for the most classic and representative robots. In total, around 3,000 votes were received. The robots that received the most votes constitute the Robot Alliance, including Mobile Suit Gundam, Macross Series, Transformers, Mazinger, etc. Over 100 robot collections from toy collectors of Toysdaily, together with exclusive selections from well-known local robot collectors including Transformers robot collector Jackie Fung and Jumbo Machinder robot toy collector Raymond Wong, will be showcased in the Robot Alliance Show.

The media tour of the Robot Alliance Show was held today (17 July) at Lok Fu Plaza, with guests including Hilda Wong, Head of Marketing of The Link, Transformers robot collector Jackie Fung, Jumbo Machinder robot toy collector Raymond Wong, and Vince Chan, moderator of Toysdaily. Toy collectors introduced the highly collectible classic robot collections at the media tour, and cosplayers dressed as classic robot characters took part in a spectacular parade as well.

"I want to thank The Link for inviting me to share my collections with the public at Lok Fu Plaza. I believe this will be a very good activity for parents and their children to join," said Raymond Wong, Jumbo Machinder robot toy collector.

Vince Chan, webmaster of Toysdaily, said, "This event, which serves as a platform for showcasing collections from different members of Toysdaily, also offers a great chance for robot lovers to exchange their views. Replica editions of many classic robots have been marketed in recent years, arousing interest in robot toys among the younger generation."

The Robot Alliance Show is open to the public for free from now until 3 August 2014 at the HK Toy Museum @ The Link at Lok Fu Plaza, where limited edition and out of production toys will be exhibited for the first time, allowing toy lovers to view these valuable collections up close. Classic Robots will pay a visit to The Link's shopping centres

Cosplayers dressed as classic robot characters will bring visitors a spectacular parade and performances each weekend at designated shopping centres. Transformable robots will meet the public as well as give out souvenirs, enabling visitors to immerse themselves in this robot toy world. During non-parade dates, robot costumes will be exhibited as part of the Robot Alliance Show.

Experience the Guinness World Record-holding "Largest Drivable Vehicle Made From Interlocking Plastic Bricks"
The Dream Chariot was specially made by local toy group Dr. Bricks under The Link's invitation to celebrate the opening of the HK Toy Museum @ The Link. The chariot was assembled over two weeks, using 200,000 toy bricks and taking 300 hours to complete, and it holds the Guinness World Record as the world's "Largest Drivable Vehicle Made From Interlocking Plastic Bricks".

Upon spending HK$500 or above at Lok Fu Plaza on designated dates (with a maximum of 2 electronic same-day receipts), shoppers can experience the Guinness World Record-holding Dream Chariot, and are entitled to a framed instant photo.
