The New York Times today unveiled “First Draft” (NYTimes.com/FirstDraft), a new politics site and daily newsletter, which provides comprehensive coverage and analysis of U.S. politics and elections.

First Draft is a lively news feed of political and policy developments that is conversational in tone and highly visual. With original reporting, breaking news and highlights from Times coverage, it provides expert analysis of key issues and surfaces the best content from other sources and social media.

The daily morning newsletter sets the agenda for the political day. Readers can follow developments throughout the day on any platform at NYTimes.com/FirstDraft.

Today’s inaugural edition includes an exclusive video interview with Vice President Joe Biden about how to fix our broken political system.

First Draft will be highly interactive, allowing readers to directly ask questions of The Times political team, from fact-checking to insight on the day’s events.

Led by Washington bureau chief Carolyn Ryan, First Draft is anchored by Carl Hulse, chief Washington correspondent and managing editor of First Draft. Hulse, one of the country’s savviest observers of politics, will be joined by reporter Alan Rappeport, and editors Nicholas Corasaniti and Paul Volpe.

Dean Baquet, executive editor, The New York Times, said, “First Draft brings together the many threads of our political news report and allows us to present political news – and reach readers – in new ways.”

First Draft content is available to all subscribers. Nonsubscribers can access up to 10 articles a month on NYTimes.com.

Readers can sign up to receive the daily newsletter via email at NYTimes.com/Newsletters/Politics/ and follow First Draft at @NYTPolitics on Twitter.
