HONG KONG, October 17, 2014 - The New York Times Company today announced a new publishing agreement between the International New York Times (INYT) and Republica that will create a combined print edition in Nepal.

The new product, in which each publication will have a distinct section, will be distributed Monday through Saturday and will be known as Republica / International New York Times.  The first issue will be published on Friday, October 17, 2014.

Stephen Dunbar-Johnson, President, International, The New York Times Company, said: "We are thrilled at the opportunity to expand our collaboration with Republica and further enhance the International New York Times' distinctive global voice.  Combining the INYT with Republica will put our paper in the hands of more people across Nepal than ever before."

As part of the agreement, Republica will cease publication of its standalone edition and solely distribute the new, combined edition*.  The agreement also increases the number of print sites in Nepal to three, adding sites in Biratnagar and Nepalgunj to the existing site in Kathmandu.

The new Republica / International New York Times will consist of two sections, with the first featuring the same Republica content that readers currently enjoy. The second section will be edited from the Hong Kong, New York, Paris and London bureaus of the International New York Times and will draw on the global network and vast journalistic resources of The New York Times.

Subscribers to Republica / International New York Times will also enjoy digital access to NYTimes.com using any device, including smartphones, tablets and computers, as well as access to the NYT Now app.
