(NYSE: PG) – For the third year, Telenovela Actress and Singer Maite Perroni joins Pantene Beautiful Lengths to encourage communities across the country to share their strength and donate their beautiful, healthy hair to create free wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment. In celebration of the campaign’s eighth anniversary, Pantene Beautiful Lengths has teamed up with hair salons across the country to host hair cutting events on National Donate Your Hair Day taking place on Saturday, November 22.

Created in 2006, Pantene Beautiful Lengths inspires people to grow, cut and donate their healthy hair to create free, real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments. To date, Pantene Beautiful Lengths has received nearly 600,000 hair donations from generous men, women, and children. The American Cancer Society distributes the wigs through their nationwide network of wig banks at no cost. Since the start of the program, 34,000 real-hair wigs have been provided to female cancer patients.

#BeautifulLengths Twitter Party with Maite Perroni

On Monday, November 10 at 9 p.m. EST, Pantene, Maite, Celebrity Hairstylist Gabriel Samra and Latina Mom Bloggers will host a bilingual Beautiful Lengths Twitter Party to discuss in detail all the hair donation requirements, tips on how to grow healthy hair, make the cut and submit the donation. Additionally, fans will find out which salons are hosting the National Donate Your Hair Day cutting events, and be encouraged to share their stories of how they or women they know have survived this life-altering disease. National Donate Your Hair Day Cutting Events

National Donate Your Hair Day is an annual day of giving where people nationwide are encouraged to cut and donate their healthy hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. The campaign accepts donations year round, but people are invited to visit one of the following salons on November 22 for a free haircut with a Pantene Beautiful Lengths donation, Rita Hazan Salon in New York, Gabriel Samra Salon in Miami, and Nine Zero One in Los Angeles.

Hair Donation Requirements

The requirements to donate hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths are:

  • Each hair donation must be at least 8 inches long.
  • Hair may be colored with vegetable dyes, rinses and semi-permanent dyes. It cannot be bleached, permanently colored, highlighted or chemically treated.
  • Gray hair is difficult to use in the wig-making process, so hair may not be more than 5% gray at the time of donation.

Important steps to keep in mind when donating:

  • Clean, shampoo, and/or condition hair, without any styling, hairspray, or additional hair products, and create a ponytail with an elastic band.
  • Measure the length of the ponytail from the elastic band to the tips, making sure it’s at least 8 inches long.
  • Cut the hair just above the elastic band so that the elastic band remains on the ponytail after cutting and keeps cut hair together.
  • Place the ponytail, kept intact with the elastic band, in a zipper-lock bag and seal tightly.
  • Place the plastic bag with the ponytail in a padded or plastic envelope and send to:
