NEW YORK, July 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- TheStreet, Inc. (NASDAQ:TST) announced that TheStreet Foundation, has launched its inaugural class for The Jim Cramer Business Journalism Fellowship. This is a six-month intensive journalism training program aimed at providing digital journalism training to early career professionals interested in business news. TheStreet Foundation is a 501(c)3 subsidiary of TheStreet, Inc. focused on promoting financial literacy through investigative journalism and business news, generally. Jim Cramer fellows will work alongside TheStreet, Inc.'s editorial team to create compelling, actionable news and analysis on the markets and the world of business. In addition to working daily in the newsroom, fellows will receive regular education from TheStreet Foundation's founding Fellow, Susan Antilla, other award-winning journalists who write for TheStreet, and of course Jim Cramer. The fellowship is designed to offer practical experience along with direct education.

Valerie Young

Having just completed a Master of Journalism from the University of Maryland, Valerie is joining us with a wealth of experience. While enrolled in the master's program, Valerie was able to generate content for several media outlets including a longer-term engagement as an Anchor/Reporter with Capital News Service. Prior to her interest in journalism, Valerie spent 11 years as an auditor and accountant working for companies including KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers. In these roles, she became a certified public accountant and a certified government financial manager. Valerie received her B.S. in Accounting from Virginia Tech.

Tobias Burns

Toby just completed a Master in Journalism from Northwestern University Medill School. A linguist speaking English, Arabic and French; Toby has written stories for US News, World Report, Market Watch, the Military Times and PC World. In addition, Toby has published in a national Pakistani newspaper, one on a change in the country's monetary policy and another on their balance of trade with the US. Toby completed his A.B. in Classics and Linguistics from Harvard University.
