AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS- The Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters, the world's leading provider of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, today announced it is working with Royal Philips, a Netherlands-based technology company diversified in healthcare, consumer lifestyle and lighting, to help protect its brand and inventions.

The two companies are forging new frontiers via a multi-year, multi-product relationship designed to foster, accelerate and ultimately protect innovation. Philips has a dedicated global department - Philips Group Innovation - which is focused on the value that innovation can bring to the world through Philips' products and solutions. Within Philips Group Innovation sits Intellectual Property & Standards (IP&S), the unit responsible for all IP matters within Philips. Thomson Reuters is providing solutions that are more compatible and cost efficient than the previous systems. Furthermore, Thomson Reuters has gained the trust of the Philips team by demonstrating its intellectual property knowledge and expertise.

"It is a pleasure to collaborate with Philips and protect their innovations," said David Brown, managing director, Thomson Reuters IP Solutions. "Our relationship is mutually beneficial.
