Tiffany & Co. (NYSE: TIF) today announced plans to open a store in New York's SoHo, in September 2012. The approximately 7,000-square-foot store will occupy a floor-through space that combines two locations--97 Greene Street and 106 Wooster Street--in the heart of the SoHo-Cast Iron Historic District.

The 2012 opening corresponds to Tiffany's 175th anniversary of its founding on Lower Broadway, which was followed by a move to Broadway at Prince Street, in the 1850s. "Opening a store in the neighborhood where Charles Lewis Tiffany developed his growing enterprise is a wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary," said Beth O. Canavan, executive vice president of Tiffany & Co. "Since we were last in SoHo, Tiffany has circled the globe, creating a style that is legendary. We're thrilled to return to build an elegant new store that is truly home to Tiffany's great heritage."

Tiffany's new SoHo store will be the jeweler's third location in New York City.
