TNK-BP Holding OAO : BP Service Stations Started Accepting MasterCard® PayPass?? Payments in Moscow and the Moscow Region

Moscow, April 27, 2012 - TNK-BP informs that the network of BP service stations has started accepting contactless MasterCard® PayPass?? payments in Moscow and the Moscow Region.

Now holders of MasterCard® PayPass?? and Maestro® PayPass?? cards can quickly and comfortably pay for fuel, goods and services at BP service stations by simply checking the sum and swiping the card across the reader to confirm the transaction. Payments of up to 1,000 rubles may be made without entering the PIN code.

"We are always trying to offer the latest and handiest technologies to our clients in combination with services of international standards and fuels of highest quality. The PayPass system is yet another step in this direction," said Amir Feizulin, First Deputy Executive Vice President, Downstream, TNK-BP.

"MasterCard offers more and more contactless payment possibilities, which make performance of everyday tasks easier, faster, and simpler. We are glad that PayPass payments are now accepted at BP service stations in Russia. TNK-BP is the third largest oil company of Russia owned on a parity basis by BP and the AAR Consortium (Alpha Group, Access Industries, and Renova). TNK-BP owns about 50% of the Russian oil and gas company Slavneft. TNK-BP's share in Russia's oil production, including its share in Slavneft, is approximately 16%. As of December 31, 2011, the total proven life-of-field (LOF) reserves of the company, estimated according to the criteria of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), amount to 9.115 billion barrels of oil equivalent. PayPass cards may now be used in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Republic of Tatarstan, Moscow Region, Smolensk Region, Tver Region, Pskov Region, Kaliningrad Region, Novgorod Region, and Tyumen Region. More information on MasterCard's contactless payment technology may be found at www.paypass.ru.
