Press Release (Dec 17,2012)
Approval of Change to the Technical Specification for the Nuclear Reactor Facility at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station

On October 23, 2012, we submitted a request to change the technical specification for the nuclear reactor facility* at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station to the Nuclear Regulation Authority.

Provided below is the outline of the requested change.

Since the common diesel generator B system (Unit 2 reactor B system diesel generator) has been recovered and is now on standby as an emergency power supply, provisions on the operation of the diesel generator will be added to the technical specification. The groups/divisions responsible for equipment management will be partially changed according to the progress of the reliability improvement of the external power supply.

(Previously announced on October 23, 2012)

The change above was reviewed by the government and has been approved by the Nuclear Regulation Authority today.
