Press Release (Aug 28,2015) Higashi-Izu Wind Power Station Commercial Operations Start TEPCO's first wind farm consisting of 11 wind turbines completed (maximum output of 18,370kW)

TEPCO has been constructing our first wind farm*, "Higashi-Izu Wind Power Station" (maximum output of 18,370kW) consisting of 11 wind turbines with a maximum output of 1,670kW each, around the top of Misujiyama mountain located at the border of Higashi-Izu town and Kawazu town, Kamo County, Shizuoka Prefecture and today we have started commercial operations.

It is estimated that the start of this power station's commercial operations enables us to provide annually power supply equivalent to approximately 10,000 general households which reduces approximately 16,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year.

TEPCO will continue to provide a stable power supply, implement environmentally conscious business activities on a company-wide basis through the expansion of renewable energy, and take measures against global warming based on national policies for energy and climate.

*Wind farm
Where large-scale wind power is generated with a number of wind turbines installed in one location. Wind farms are increasing by securing wide, open areas with strong winds.
