Announcement for launching the two entities for new corporate innovation team,

"Acario Investment One LLC" and "Acario Innovation LLC"

Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd.

Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. (President: Michiaki Hirose, "Tokyo Gas") launched the two wholly own subsidiaries, Acario Investment One LLC (President: Shin Yamagami [Senior Executive Officer, IT Division, Technology Research and Innovation Division, Tokyo Gas], "Acario Investment") to invest in venture companies and energy-related venture capital funds, and Acario Innovation LLC (President: Shin Yamagami, "Acario Innovation") to conduct open collaboration with new technologies in on December 8th.

The "Acario" brand derived from our original business to create the well-lighted area with street gas lamps,

"Akari", for people during the period of civilization and enlightenment in early Meiji era, is newly created to bring long term commitment in the company's effort to create next generation energy businesses these coming

years. Tokyo Gas will work on all related activities, set as "Acario Ventures" bearing this name, to invest in venture companies and energy-related venture capital funds.

Tokyo Gas is seeking the opportunities to investment in and collaboration with venture companies and venture capital funds to achieve our strategy - achieve value creation through innovation (The Tokyo Gas Group FY 2018-2020 management plan, "GPS2020"). Acario Investment will invest in the venture companies in the energy related technology business and work closely with Acario Innovation.

Tokyo Gas Group continues to provide value to customers and wider communities with our value creation via innovation. We aim to achieve this through collaboration with domestic and international venture companies, energy-related venture capital funds and other large corporates.
