TSYS (NYSE: TSS) announced today that Chuck Harris, senior executive vice president, TSYS, and president, Netspend, will be leaving TSYS and the payments industry at the end of the year to pursue a new career in the non-profit arena as Executive Director of the University of Texas Alumni Association.

Harris will remain President of Netspend through December 31, 2017, and will remain on the Netspend board of directors to help in the transition for his successor. TSYS will finalize its strategy for identifying Harris’ replacement over the next few weeks.

“I respect and admire Chuck’s determination to follow this new course and focus his attention exclusively on community service and fostering the growth of education programs and scholarships for his alma mater,” said M. Troy Woods, chairman, president and chief executive officer, TSYS. “TSYS has benefited greatly from Chuck’s strong leadership, his passion for empowering consumers and his focus on doing the right thing for people and the business. Since joining TSYS in 2013 with the acquisition of Netspend, Chuck has been responsible for driving growth in TSYS’ prepaid business, and we all wish him the very best in the future.”
