Global professional services company Towers Watson (NASDAQ: TW) announced it has received a perfect score of 100% for the 2016 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) workplace equality. The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, America’s largest civil rights organization, administered the index. Towers Watson joins the ranks of 407 major U.S. businesses that earned top marks this year.

“I couldn’t be more delighted that we’ve once again received a perfect score on the CEI,” said Carl Hess, managing director of the Americas and executive sponsor for Out@TW, Towers Watson’s resource community for LGBT associates and allies. “It’s a very welcome recognition of our continuing efforts to create an environment at Towers Watson that brings out the best of every associate.”

The 2016 CEI rated 1,027 businesses in the report, which evaluated LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBT community. Towers Watson’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI's criteria resulted in a 100% ranking and the designation as a best place to work for LGBT equality.

“In the 2016 CEI, hundreds of major businesses responded to our new standards for workplace equality with exceptional leadership,” said Deena Fidas, program director for the HRC Foundation Workplace Equality Program. “Towers Watson not only meets these standards, it goes above and beyond the call of duty, making commitment to equality a fundamental aspect of its corporate values."
