Transneft Druzhba planned large-scale revamping of some thirty underwater crossings of Kuybyshev-Bryansk and Ufa-Zapadnoye petroleum product trunk pipelines (PPTP) over rivers and small water courses as well as five crossings over rail and motor roads.

In addition, the plan is to replace the linear part sections in these PPTPs with approx. 250 km total length.

Petroleum product pipelines are laid down in 7 regions of the Russian Federation. Besides Samara and Bryansk Regions, these include Ulyanovsk, Pensa, Tambov, Lipetsk, and Orel Regions.

Replacement of underwater crossings and revamping of the linear portion will be carried out as part of the Comprehensive Development, Technical Upgrading and Revamping Programme for the Petroleum Product Transport Facilities in 2016-2022.
