Transneft' : Transneft Kama Region has completed construction of a tank at the Platina LODS

Transneft Kama Region has completed construction of a tank with the capacity of 50 thousand cubic meters at the Platina line operation dispatcher station (LODS) in Sverdlovsk Region.
Construction of the VSTFR-50000 tank with a floating roof for oil storage has been carried out in response to the need for increase in the capacity of product tanks within the tank farm of the Platina LODS and increase in technological reliability and stability of oil transportation via the Kholmogory - Klin and the Surgut - Polotsk trunk pipelines (TP).
Construction was started by Transneft Kama Region in June 2015 within the scope of the Transneft's Technical Upgrading, Revamping, and Overhaul Programme. The new tank of about 20 m high is the third tank at the Platina LODS.
Within the scope of the construction and installation work installation of metal structures for the tank, process pipelines of about 400 km long in total, an overhead cable tray, external firefighting networks has been carried out. Drain shafts and lightning dischargers have also been built. VSTFR-50000 is equipped with a comprehensive set of equipment ensuring continuous and uninterrupted operation. Prior to commissioning the tank has passed hydraulic tests.
In total more than 70 people and more than 20 equipment units have been involved into the construction work.

The Platina LODS is the most remotely located station in the Perm Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate of Transneft Kama Region, it is situated in Sverdlovsk Region. The station ensures oil transportation via two trunk pipelines: Surgut - Polotsk and Kholmogory - Klin. The LODS comprises the Platina pipe-end PS with two oil pumping stations and a tank farm. The LODS operates the implemented automated systems of industrial process management which are monitored by highly qualified professionals on a continuous basis.
