Travelers has been recognized by G.I. Jobs as a Top Military Friendly Employer® in recognition of its military-friendly hiring practices and benefits. Only two percent of eligible companies make the top 100 list each year, and this is the eighth consecutive year that Travelers has been included.

“We are pleased to continue to be recognized by G.I. Jobs,” said John Clifford, Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Travelers. “From our recruiting practices and support of our military employees, to our involvement with mentoring programs for transitioning veterans, we take great pride in our military-focused efforts.”

Among many measures, the survey assesses a company’s long-term commitment to hiring former military personnel, recruiting and hiring efforts, as well as policies for employees who are reservists and are called to active duty.

Travelers is committed to supporting veterans and military personnel in a number of ways, including:

Recruiting and hiring practices

Travelers actively recruits transitioning service personnel and military spouses for opportunities as property and auto claim adjusters, investigators, underwriters, product and project managers, medical case managers, information engineers, attorneys, risk control consultants and various other positions. A team of recruiters and employees with previous military experience work to build relationships with military and veteran organizations nationally.

Supporting members of the armed forces, internally and externally

Travelers recognizes the skills military personnel bring to the workplace. Through its involvement with American Corporate Partners, Travelers offers mentorships to transitioning military personnel. The company also sponsors events to salute military personnel and their families during the Travelers Championship.

Travelers’ Military and Veterans Diversity Network is an employee resource group open to all employees. Since its launch in 2013, the network has grown to include more than 1,300 members nationally. These employees work to build awareness of veterans’ skills and experiences, promote veterans’ career development and ensure support for veterans/military employees.

Benefits for employees on active duty

Travelers is also recognized for its benefits for military personnel deployed on active duty, including benefits continuation and leave of absence policies. The company provides full benefits and supplements employees’ military pay for the duration of their deployment, or up to the five year maximum established by federal law.

This year, Travelers was also named “Best for Vets” by Military Times EDGE magazine. To learn more about Travelers as a military-friendly employer, visit www.travelers.com/Careers4Military.
