LAS VEGAS , May 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Pardee Homes , a member of TRI Pointe Group, announced the launch of the Responsive Home project, in partnership with BUILDER Magazine, to design, build and sell the ideal home for 21st century buyers. These industry leaders saw a pivotal shift in aspects of the home buying process - with 84 percent of millennials stating financial readiness as a top motivator for home purchase, trumping emotional readiness, a traditional motivator of past generations. The Responsive Home for today's younger buyers, influenced by a survey of millennials where 83 percent stated that they are seeking more space and 71 percent want to personalize their home, is a familiar yet reimagined American dream.

"Millennials want to move to the suburbs for many of the same reasons as generations before them, but they want to take elements of their urban lifestyle and 21st century ideals with them," said Klif Andrews , President, Pardee Homes Las Vegas. "The Responsive Home Project is bridging this gap and inspiring young buyers to purchase a home at an attainable price point that offers the lifestyle they want."

By design, the Responsive Home answers present and longer-term ownership living needs, providing longevity in the home's lifespan and maximizing a young buyer's financial investment. The BUILDER and Pardee Homes' Responsive Home concept is available in two floor plans with many options to personalize the space beyond finishes and paint. The Contemporary Farmhouse and the Contemporary Transitional blend livability with modern function catering to the most important request according to younger buyers - more space, specifically outdoors. Both home choices offer evolution-over-time floor plans with powerful indoor-outdoor workflow, technology-enabled automation, energy performance and bold design finishes. Homeowners can personalize their space in multiple ways including options for additional bedrooms, office or fitness room, casita living spaces inclusive of separate home entrances, among others.

The Responsive Home will be located within the master-planned Inspirada community in Henderson, Nevada - a suburb of Las Vegas . Construction on the first models begins June 1 and potential homeowners will be able to tour, as well as purchase the homes in early 2016.

"The Responsive Home is setting the bar for how the housing industry approaches what 'home' looks like for young buyers," said John McManus , Group Editorial Director of BUILDER Magazine. "We recognized that, though evolved over time, the American Dream of homeownership is still alive in millennials, and these homes will reassure the possibility of that dream."

The Responsive Home is built to include the most important elements and amenities in a home, according to young buyers. As part of the project, a survey was conducted exclusively with millennials to source opinions and insights on their ideal home. Results show that the desire for more space is the biggest driving factor for millennials looking to purchase a home and is a requirement they are not willing to compromise on. In addition to outdoor living space, the other must-have options within their home include an open kitchen and a two-car attached garage.

To bring the Responsive Home to life, Pardee Homes and BUILDER Magazine have teamed up with industry leaders in the home space including, Bassenian Lagoni, AndersonBaron, Western Window Systems and contemporary designer Bobby Berk , the creative director on the project. Each partner has crafted the ultimate design that meets millennial specifications within their respective expertise, including:
