Meridian partner Project Team Solutions to provide consulting services for Prolog Manager and Prolog Converge

Meridian Systems, a Trimble Company, announced today that Dade Service Corporation has adopted Prolog^® Converge to improve project operations. Prolog Converge, a rich Web-based application, has been selected to provide detailed document tracking, reporting and an easier way for the entire company to collaborate. Dade Service is working directly with Project Team Solutions, Inc. (PTSI), an authorized Meridian Value-Added Reseller partner, to complete the implementation.

Dade Service specializes in the design and construction of facilities for the produce and cold storage industries. After being awarded a number of new projects, Dade Service decided to re-evaluate their methods for managing projects. To handle the increased project load without affecting customer service or increasing the company's fixed overhead and labor costs, the company made the decision to improve their project management infrastructure.

After using Prolog for many years, the company opted to expand upon its current implementation, as well as add Prolog Converge to gain additional collaboration functionality. This new Prolog strategy will help Dade Service to better address the current project challenges and inefficiencies they are experiencing. The company had been using complex Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for managing critical tasks, such as costing and sales tax reporting, and had also been using Outlook for project communications. Duplicate data entry, the possibility of Excel errors and the lack of a centralized project information repository were just some of the day-to-day project management challenges that Prolog will help them to eliminate.

"When we were using Excel, we had to print out invoices, match them to the printed purchase order, put them in a binder and cross reference them, too," said Ashley Perryman, Dade Service's sales and marketing coordinator. "Prolog software has eliminated this manual work. Our time spent on costing has easily been reduced by 50 percent and we have reduced our use of paper by 50 percent as well."

In addition to taking a fresh look at Meridian's Prolog solution, Dade Service evaluated a number of other project management systems. "Ultimately, we concluded that Meridian's Prolog Manager and Prolog Converge applications would best address the inefficiencies we were experiencing," said Perryman.
