BOSTON, April 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Jetsetter, the world's go-to brand for travelers with discerning taste, today announced its first annual Hotel Food Awards, which pay respect to the best restaurants, minibars, room service menus and turndown traditions at hotels worldwide.

In an effort to provide better direction to its members who value food as part of their travel, Jetsetter contributors ate their way from St. Martin to Southeast Asia, sampling cuisine poolside, in the African wild, inside a private cave and in their hotel rooms - among other notable experiences.

Behind the Awards
The Jetsetter editorial team sent categories to more than 200 travel correspondents globally, then compiled their suggestions along with the Jetsetter team's. A final committee of senior-level editors selected the final winners in each category based on each category's criteria. The Jetsetter Hotel Food Awards celebrates hotels and resorts that make food an essential and integral part of their guest experience.

From the Editor-in-Chief
Jetsetter Editor-in-Chief Sean Murphy commented, "Memorable food is a growing and essential part of the hotel experience and often a prime reason why people travel. With our first annual Hotel Food Awards, we wanted to celebrate those hotels that are doing it right and guide our members toward those experiences that are exceptional. The awards were issued to hotels that we feel go above and beyond with food, provide culinary experiences that exceed expectations and that champion the qualities of adventure, discovery and enjoyment that are inherent in travel."
