Iomega, an EMC company and an innovator in data storage
solutions for small and medium businesses (SMBs), today
announced the launch of video surveillance storage management
solutions in partnership with Tulip Telecom and MindTree
Limited. The partnership looks to provide India's first
video surveillance services based on cloud technology. The
market, which is estimated to be US$ 225 million in 2011*, is
largely focused on the enterprise market, and has not fully
addressed the needs of SMBs and the Indian consumer.
The cloud solution involves Iomega® StorCenter™ network
storage devices, Tulip's national broadband network with
cloud data centers, and MindTree's video management
software. The solution provides superior yet economical local
cloud video surveillance solutions for SMBs and distributed
enterprises. The solution will be made available on all
Iomega StorCenter ix and px series in India.
"Iomega is helping to redefine video surveillance
technology by delivering a high performance, low cost
all-in-one IP solution targeting small businesses and
distributed enterprises," said Jonathan Huberman,
President, Iomega Corporation. "Our product not only
delivers on the promise of an easy to install and use
security appliance but also adds business productivity tools
such as loss prevention, compliance and a planning tool that
businesses can use to increase revenue, improve operations
and enhance profitability. With leading video management
software partner MindTree, Iomega StorCenter network storage
products deliver the latest hosted video surveillance
solutions. We are excited to join with Tulip and MindTree in
delivering advanced, dependable and economical hosted local
and cloud video surveillance solutions."
Iomega's association with Tulip, leading Enterprise
Communications Services provider, will enable 'Iomega
StorCenter plus' to quickly reach India's top 2400
businesses, currently served by Tulip over its Nationwide
Broadband Network. Further, with Tulip launching world's
third largest Data Centre earlier this year in Bangalore with
capacity of approx 900,000 square feet will strongly
complement the product offering launched by Iomega, Tulip and
MindTree together.
On the partnership, Sanjay Jain, CEO, Tulip Telecom Ltd,
said, "We are pleased to partner with Iomega and
MindTree in bringing a future ready product for a large pool
of SMB and fast growing Enterprises. We believe our strong
Network, and corporate data connectivity services will
strongly compliment the product in fast reaching businesses
which have been evaluating the adoption of Video Surveillance
solution for their business operations. The company has
adopted a dual approach of making investments wherever
required (e.g Data Centre) and working through domestic and
global partnerships. These partnerships have acted as a
catalyst in driving company's positioning towards
becoming a one stop shop for its customers for all their data
services needs and we intent to walk this path in times to
come as well."
Iomega's association with MindTree, a global IT and
Product Engineering Services company, will provide
MindTree's SecureMind Surveillance Manager Video
Management System (VMS) application on all Iomega StorCenter
network storage devices. The Iomega StorCenter device plus
