Tullow received a Local Content Award at the third Ghana Summit on Oil and Gas that was held in Accra from 27 to 29 March 2012.

Tullow received the award based on its implementation of policies that ensure significant participation by local companies and citizens, in both direct employment and in awarding contracts.

While addressing the conference, President and General Manager of Tullow Ghana Limited, Dai Jones, said: "We understand that promoting local content has a positive social impact as well as being a responsible business practice which enhances bottom line and reputation."

Representatives from government institutions also attended the conference, where they shared experiences and discussed the challenges facing the industry.
