New York, NY - January 10, 2017 - 21st Century Fox today announced that Gary Roberts, longtime Executive Vice President, Fox Group Legal, will retire from Fox after nearly 25 years, effective February 1.

'Gary is not just an extraordinary lawyer but a special person, and he is simply irreplaceable. He has had a distinguished career here and we thank him for his many contributions over the course of an especially dynamic period for the company,' said Gerson Zweifach, Senior Executive Vice President and Group General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer for 21st Century Fox.

In connection with Roberts' retirement, the company is realigning its legal structure with Roberts' direct report Jill Ratner, EVP, Litigation, Fox Entertainment Group, assuming a new role at the parent company as Deputy General Counsel for Litigation, 21st Century Fox. Under this new structure, Ms. Ratner will be responsible for a number of areas in addition to litigation arising from the business units, including content protection enforcement and employment matters.

Continued Mr. Zweifach, 'Jill has been instrumental in a number of our highest profile litigation successes over the last decade. She is a versatile and gifted lawyer and I look forward to working with her and integrating all of her colleagues into the 21CF legal team.'

As Executive Vice President, Litigation, Fox Entertainment Group, Ms. Ratner has led the team that oversees litigation and claims across the Fox companies. She and her team have contributed to precedent-setting cases that were significant victories for FOX and the industry, including WNET v. Aereo (ABC v. Aereo), and Fox Television Stations Inc. et al. v. FilmOn X LLC et al. Prior to her career at Fox, Ms. Ratner worked as litigation counsel at two major Los Angeles law firms and at the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). She graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from The University of California at Los Angeles with a bachelor's degree in Communications Studies and attended the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, graduating Order of the Coif.
