NEW YORK - Sharri Berg has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer of News and Operations for the FOX Television Stations (FTS) group, announced FOX Television Stations CEO and FOX News Co-President, Jack Abernethy. Berg will oversee all initiatives and talent development for news programs on FTS. In addition, she will retain her current responsibilities at the Fox News Channel (FNC).

In making the announcement, Abernethy stated, 'Over the past 11 years with FTS, Sharri has been an invaluable member of our executive team and has created a robust, efficient and powerful network of shared resources with FOX News. She is a unique leader whose innovative and strategic management approach will ensure that the stations, as well as FOX News, continue to develop the next generation of journalists.'

Berg has worked in a dual capacity for both FOX's cable news and broadcast divisions, beginning at FNC in 1996 and taking on the role of Senior Vice President of News Operations for FTS in 2005. Notably, she helped launch FNC nearly 20 years ago and has held key operational positions at the network throughout her tenure. She started her career there as a satellite operations manager and moved into leadership roles, which encompassed field operations and newsgathering. She has also created and managed unique news enhancement initiatives such as local news sharing and the Fox News Reporter Training Program, which just graduated its second class of multi-media reporters. A 21stCentury Fox and News Corp 30-year veteran, Berg began her career with WNYW-TV as a sales assistant.
