Did you know that REALTORS® and real estate agents are not the same thing? While they both help people buy and sell property, REALTORS® are associated with an organization that monitors and holds them to a higher standard of ethics. The nonprofit organization, Utah Central Association of REALTORS® (UCAR), is dedicated to helping its member REALTORS® be professionally cooperative, protect property rights and enhance the REALTOR® image. UCAR prides itself on professionalism and maintaining a respectful image in the community.
So, how does UCAR help REALTORS® to be the best that they can be? The association provides leading edge programs, products and services that enable the members to deliver the highest quality professional services to clients.
REALTORS® are able to purchase a variety of signs, posts, flags and other materials from the association. They are also provided with information on the housing industry, such as statistics in the market and Utah County, and materials to help REALTORS® with their personal businesses. On UCAR's website and Facebook page, members can find shareable content to help market for themselves.
Because REALTORS® who are associated with UCAR are receiving support and training from the association, they, in turn, pass that knowledge and support onto the buyers and sellers of real estate. While many people try to sell or purchase property on their own, they often, eventually turn to the professionals.
A real estate transaction is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, financial investments that people experience during their lives. That is why more and more are turning to professionals for help. In fact, according to an independent survey of the general public that was released by the National Association of REALTORS®, 70 percent agreed that real estate professionals make buying or selling a home much easier.
Because there is so much information out there on social media, the internet and word-of-mouth, it can be difficult to sift through to find the facts about real estate. That is when the professionals can step in.
According to UCAR's website, its members are committed to treating all parties to a transaction honestly and can offer an objective voice throughout the process. Additionally, REALTORS® subscribe to a strict code of ethics, which is something that UCAR members take seriously.
REALTORS® are very knowledgeable because of the continuing education that they are involved with through UCAR. This knowledge can help the home-buying or selling process run much smoother and be advantageous to all parties.
Some things that REALTORS® can help with include determining buying power, assistance in home search, providing objective information about properties, understanding different financing options, identifying qualified lenders and helping with the closing of the sale of a home.
