BLUE BELL, Pa., March 31, 2015 - Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that its federal government business organization was certified as compliant with the ISO/IEC 20000 standard for best practices related to delivering managed services that meet business and customer requirements. The certification was related to the company's work on the IRS Enterprise Storage Acquisition program.

The ISO/IEC 20000 certification, presented by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), is the first internationally recognized standard evaluating IT service management, the principal measure of IT quality within an organization. It measures the company's approach and capability in planning and delivering world-class IT managed services.

In 2012, the IRS selected Unisys Federal Systems to plan, build, deploy and maintain a new IRS storage environment, transitioning the agency's storage assets to a private cloud-based storage-as-a-service model. Currently, 14 petabytes of storage are managed via these ISO 20000 qualified processes by Unisys for the IRS.

The program reduces costs by allowing the IRS to pay only for the amount of storage it needs when it is needed, instead of purchasing storage equipment necessary to meet its peak capacity demands.

With this certification, Unisys extends its reputation as a leader in achieving ISO/IEC 20000 certifications. In 2012, Unisys Federal Systems announced it had received the certification for the framework it uses to deliver data center services as well as its specific work on the Defense Finance and Accounting Service Desktop Management Initiative III contract. In 2010, Unisys assisted the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention's Mid-Tier Data Center in Atlanta in obtaining one of the first ISO/IEC 20000 certifications awarded to a U.S. federal government data center.
