Moscow, 23 October 2014 - UC RUSAL (SEHK: 486, Euronext: RUSAL/RUAL, Moscow Exchange: RUALR/RUALRS), a leading, global aluminium producer, and Rospotrebnadzor, the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing, have signed an Agreement of Cooperation (the "Agreement") to fight against the Ebola virus. The Agreement sets out the assistance both parties will provide to the Republic of Guinea and the health protection of Russian citizens in the country and the local population.

RUSAL and Rospotrebnadzor will organise antivirus measures,  vaccinations and provide diagnosis support to ensure the safety of the employees and work places for Company personnel in Guinea, to prevent and help detect the Ebola virus at its early stages.

The Agreement was signed by Vladislav Soloviev, RUSAL's first deputy CEO, and Anna Popova, Chief State Sanitary Physician of the Russian Federation.

In February 2014, RUSAL established the staff to organize and coordinate efforts to fight the Ebola virus. RUSAL took emergency antiviral measures to minimize the infection risks of expatriate workers and local employees. The quarantine policy was developed in accordance with the recommendations of key Russian infectiologists and international health organisations. These measures have proved to be highly effective in the Guinean regions where RUSAL operates.

RUSAL provides Guinean medical institutions with medicines, disinfectants, and other special equipment. With the help of the Company, a modern isolation ward was arranged in Simbaya, with delivery of a plasmapheresis is scheduled for 25 October 2014. Plasmapheresis is used to take the serum of those who have recovered from the illness and use it to provide medical treatment to those who are infected. This equipment will be distributed by doctors from RUSAL's medical center.

Upon initiative and with the support of the Company, sanitary posts have been established at the autonomous sea port of Conakry, where trained volunteers with special skills to detect the infected provide support.

Vladislav Soloviev, First Deputy CEO of RUSAL, commented: "We have been present in Guinea for 15 years and feel responsible for the health and safety of, not only our RUSAL employees, but for the country as a whole. This Agreement with Rospotrebnadzor will allow us to combine our efforts in fighting the Ebola virus and provide further support until the situation stabilises."
