United Plantations Berhad is engaged in the business of oil palm and coconut cultivation and processing on its plantations in Peninsular Malaysia. The Company's segments include plantations and palm oil refining. The plantations segment is engaged in the business of oil palm and coconut cultivation and processing on its plantations in Peninsular Malaysia and Kalimantan, Indonesia. This segment also has a research center, which provides improved planting material for the Company's estates as well as for the Malaysian agricultural sector. The palm oil refining segment is engaged in the business of palm oil processing, manufacturing of edible oils, fats, cocoa butter substitute and trading in crude palm oil and palm oil products. Its refineries include Unitata Refinery and UniFuji Refinery. The Company's subsidiaries include Unitata Berhad, Bernam Advisory Services Sdn. Bhd., Berta Services Sdn. Bhd. and Bernam Agencies Sdn. Bhd.
