United Utilities : MP promotes apprenticeships as a real viable alternative to university

As local water company United Utilities launches its search for 29 apprentices to join its award winning scheme, Warrington South MP David Mowat has spoken about why apprenticeships are a real viable alternative to university.

Speaking at his recently organised apprenticeship fair the Warrington South MP said: 'High level apprenticeships are quite rightly, increasingly popular.'

'In many ways apprenticeships can be a better alternative to university as you train on the job and get general work skills.'

David added: 'Young people need to think about themselves and think about where they want to be in the future and starting a high level apprenticeship such as those United Utilities offer is a real viable way into the world of work.'

United Utilities the North West's only FTSE100 company is recognised as one of the top employers of apprentices in the UK.

As well as learning the ropes as the next generation of employees, the company also offer its apprentices fantastic opportunities to develop as people.
