UnitedHealthcare Hosts Baby Shower at Family Health Center for Moms-to-Be and New Moms

Sgt. Shannon Carraway from the Laurel Police Department in Mississippi was one of the speakers at the UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Mississippi Baby Shower where she shared important child car safety tips with new and expectant moms.

UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Mississippi and Family Health Center in Laurel hosted a baby shower for expectant moms and new parents. The baby shower was designed to help expectant moms and new parents with important prenatal and well-baby care resources and information.

Expectant moms and new moms met with health experts to get answers to questions about their pregnancies and receive tips for taking care of their babies, including information on prenatal and postpartum care, and child-care safety. Attendees learned about available well-baby resources, including a demonstration of BabyBlocks®, a free online wellness-incentive program that enables participants to receive email appointment alerts, wellness-related text messages, connect directly with maternity nurses and earn rewards for keeping doctor appointments.

Those in attendance received a free gift bag that includes baby-care items such as diapers, baby wipes and other items. There was also a raffle for parents with door prizes such as a baby bouncer, car seat and other baby-care items.
