The U.S. Government Accountability Office upheld UnitedHealth Group Inc.'s (UNH) $20.5 billion contract with the Pentagon to manage care for active-duty military, retirees and their families in 21 states, Bloomberg News reported Monday.

TriWest Healthcare Alliance Corp. had challenged the Defense Department's decision to award UnitedHealth the contract, which had been held by the nonprofit for 16 years.
