The company has added nearly 270 new positions in the two locations to serve people enrolled in its Medicaid plan, adding to the 675 UnitedHealthcare jobs recently created specifically to serve Iowa’s Medicaid program.

UnitedHealthcare is one of the health plans selected to participate in the IA Health Link program. The Davenport and West Des Moines offices will further support the nearly 200,000 Iowans that UnitedHealthcare expects to serve with essential health care benefits.

UnitedHealthcare invested in a new 30,000-square-foot office space in Davenport for its Iowa operations center, which will house nearly 250 newly hired employees.

UnitedHealthcare employs more than 1,000 Iowans across the state, serving over half a million people enrolled in employer, state health exchange, TRICARE, Medicare and now Medicaid plans.

A celebration marking the opening was held earlier today at the Davenport office which was attended by Davenport mayor Frank Klipsch, state representatives Dave Heaton, Phyllis Thede, Jim Lykam, Ross Paustian and Norlin Mommsen, and other community leaders.
