Uralkali has provided support to the Berezniki town administration as part of the implementation of the governmental decree "On the approval of requirements for anti-terrorist security in places of mass gatherings of people and objects (territories)". The decree says that all educational institutions must be equipped with access control systems, including turnstiles and video surveillance.

The company has allocated RUB 10.5 million for the installation of access control systems in 17 schools in Berezniki. A further five secondary schools, in which turnstiles were installed last year, will be equipped with surveillance cameras. The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2015.

Vera Pomortseva, Uralkali Head of Government Relations Projects, said:

"Uralkali has always taken occupational safety seriously and our concern extends to the younger generation. Making schools as safe as possible, both for children and teachers, ahead of the next school year is a key priority."
