U.S. Bank has been honored by Americans for the Arts with the BCA 10: Best Businesses Partnering with the Arts in America for 2015. The BCA 10 recognizes businesses that demonstrate exceptional commitment to the arts through grants, local partnerships, volunteer programs, matching gifts, sponsorships and board membership.

“The arts are important to our collective human spirit, but they’re also essential to building a healthy business community,” said Richard Davis, chairman, president and chief executive officer of U.S. Bank. “Communities that have a strong foundation in the arts naturally create fertile ground for job creation and business development. It is for all these reasons that U.S. Bank has been and continues to be a dedicated supporter of the arts.”

Over the past 5 years, U.S. Bank has awarded more than $15 million to the arts in the form of the U.S. Bank Foundation grants. In 2014 alone, nearly $4 million of the foundation’s annual financial contributions were directed towards the arts, and primarily to organizations that use the arts to help address community concerns.

Two examples of U.S. Bank’s investment in action are in Denver and Portland, Oregon. U.S. Bank was one of the few organizations that committed to bring the Clyfford Still Museum to life in Denver. The bank’s early commitment to support the museum helped make it a reality. In Portland, U.S. Bank’s $1 million gift to Portland Center Stage allowed one of the city’s premier theater organizations to pay off debt related to the restoration and renovation of their historic building.

The Business Committee for the Arts (BCA) is a division of Americans for the Arts. The BCA 10 Awards were presented on October 6, 2015 in New York.
