Hastings, Minn. - March 17, 2014 - Afton Alps Ski Area will host its annual Food Shelf Frenzy program collecting canned goods for Second Harvest Heartland food bank, giving guests deeply discounted lift tickets in exchange for their donation.

Saturday, March 22, and Sunday, March 23, Afton Alps will offer reduced price lift tickets --- $20 for a full day or $15 for a 3pm to close lift ticket --- to guests that donate four or more non-perishable food items at Afton Alps.

"Food Shelf Frenzy is a great way to give back to the community while enjoying the spring weather, which is perfect for skiing," says Amy Reents, Afton Alps Marketing Manager. "We're delighted to give Afton Alps' guests a discount motivation to donate to Second Harvest, which is an amazing organization, like the other local non-profits we partner with throughout the year as part of our Vail Resorts Echo charitable giving program."
